Draxo Fwipu

Investment Transparency Built on Real Experience

We started Draxo Fwipu because we saw too many people confused by their own portfolios.

Back in 2019, our founder Eilís Tuathail was working with a small accounting firm in Cork. She kept hearing the same frustrations from clients who had investments scattered across different platforms. They'd get quarterly statements that didn't talk to each other. One fund would be up, another down, and nobody could tell them what it meant for their actual financial position.

The tools existed to track everything properly. But they were either built for institutional traders who lived on Bloomberg terminals, or they were too simplified to be useful. There wasn't much in between for ordinary people with genuine investments to manage.

We Built What We Needed Ourselves

The first version of our monitoring system was honestly just a sophisticated spreadsheet. Eilís built it for three clients who were willing to try something different. It pulled data from their various accounts and gave them a single view of performance.

Those three clients told their friends. By mid-2021, we had about thirty people using what was still basically a manual process. That's when we knew we had to build proper software.

Our approach hasn't changed much since those early days. We focus on clarity over complexity. Your investments should make sense when you look at them. If they don't, something's wrong with how we're presenting the information.

We're based in Cork because that's where we started, and honestly, the rent's cheaper than Dublin. Our team has grown to twelve people now. Most of us have backgrounds in financial services or data analysis, though our lead developer used to work in weather forecasting, which turns out to be surprisingly relevant.

How We Actually Work With Clients

Our methodology isn't revolutionary. It's just careful and systematic, which in our experience is what actually helps people understand their money better.

1

Data Integration

We connect to your existing investment accounts and bring everything into one place. This usually takes a few days to set up properly because we verify every connection twice. Some platforms are easier to work with than others, and we'll tell you straight away if something's going to be complicated.

2

Portfolio Analysis

Once we have your data flowing in, we analyze what you actually own. Not just the surface numbers, but the underlying exposure. Two funds might look different but hold similar assets. We map all of that so you can see your real diversification and identify any gaps or overlaps worth addressing.

3

Ongoing Monitoring

The monitoring part is mostly automated, but we review everything manually as well. Our system checks your holdings multiple times daily and flags anything unusual. You get a straightforward summary whenever you want to look. Monthly reports go out automatically, though you can adjust that frequency if you prefer.

The People Behind the Analysis

We're a small team, and that's deliberate. Everyone here actually works with clients or builds the tools we use. No layers of management between you and the people doing the work.

Eilís Tuathail

Founder and Lead Analyst

Eilís spent eight years in traditional financial advisory before starting Draxo Fwipu. She has her CFA qualification and still maintains her continuing education requirements, though she'll tell you most of what she learned came from working with actual clients who asked difficult questions. She reviews every new client setup personally and handles our most complex portfolio analyses.

Sorcha Bláithín, Client Portfolio Specialist at Draxo Fwipu

Sorcha Bláithín

Client Portfolio Specialist

Sorcha joined us in early 2023 after working in institutional asset management in Dublin. She's particularly good at explaining complicated fund structures in plain language. Most of our client onboarding goes through her now, and she runs our monthly educational sessions where clients can ask questions about their portfolios or investment concepts they've been wondering about.

What We Promise and What We Don't

We can help you understand what you own and how it's performing. We can spot issues before they become serious problems. We can save you time and give you better information to work with. What we can't do is predict markets or guarantee returns. Anyone who promises that isn't being honest with you.

If you want someone to manage your money and make investment decisions for you, we're probably not the right fit. We work with people who want to stay involved in their investments but need better tools and clearer information to do it effectively.
